Scoring System Overview

AlgoChef rates every strategy with five institutional-grade scores, each measuring a different dimension of quality. Together, they evaluate 20+ metrics at once and tell you whether a strategy is worth trading — in seconds, not hours.

Info

Why five scores instead of one? A single metric like net profit or Sharpe Ratio can be misleading. A strategy can be profitable yet dangerously risky, or statistically unreliable despite great returns. AlgoChef's scoring system evaluates four independent dimensions — Profitability, Risk, Confidence, and Health — then combines the first three into a single composite (CSI). This multi-dimensional approach gives you an institutional-grade overview that no single metric can match.

The Five Scores

#ScoreRangeWhat It Measures
1Profitability0–100Returns relative to risk
2Risk0–100Capital protection quality
3Confidence0–100Statistical reliability
4CSI0–100Composite of P, R, C
5Health0–100Real-time degradation detection

Tier Classification

All scores share the same tier system:

TierScore RangeMeaning
Excellent80–100Top-tier performance
Good60–79Solid with room to improve
Caution40–59Needs attention or optimization
Failed0–39Do not trade

The Health Score adds a 5th tier: Critical for strategies showing active degradation.

How to Read the Scores

Tip

Start with the CSI — it's the single number that tells you the overall quality. Then check Health to make sure the strategy isn't degrading. Drill into the three sub-scores (P, R, C) to understand strengths and weaknesses. New to these concepts? The Trading Terms Glossary explains key terms in plain English.

Position Sizing Guidance

Each CSI tier includes a position sizing recommendation:

CSI TierAction
ExcellentTrade with full allocation
GoodTrade with reduced allocation
CautionMonitor closely, reduce exposure
FailedDo not trade
